Sandy spent 12 years in Nelson and enjoyed the people, the culture and the community. The proximity to Kootenay Lake and surrounding national parks and a multitude of ski resorts makes Nelson a year around recreation paradise. Nelson has much to offer in art, culture, funky shops and restaurants and the business community is very diverse. Slocan, Silverton, New Denver, and Kaslo have rich histories in silver mining from the turn of the century.
